## Mission

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, or FBI, is the chief federal law enforcement and domestic intelligence agency. As a division of the U.S. Department of Justice, the FBI has the responsibility of upholding and enforcing federal laws, protecting the nation from domestic dangers, and conducting high-level criminal investigations that go beyond state or national boundaries.
